BSR OEOSC OP1.005 Optical Wavefront Measurement: Action Items

Action items arising from discussion on 1/25/2009 – in addition to continuous improvement of the document.

Section 3: make definitions conform to ISO requirement (single sentence) with eqns, etc in new Section 4

Section 3: add definition of measurement direction (normal to surface/normal to wavefront/parallel to optical axis) with appropriate note. B. Catching agreed to draft.

Section 3.5: RMS – replace integrals with discrete. Add note about bandwidth and sampling

Section 3.7: Slope

Contrast between approach in OP1.004 and here noted. Working group required to resolve if/how to handle slope in OP1.005. Volunteers were: D. Aikens, l. Assoufid, J. DeGroote Nelson, U. Griesmann, P. Takacs, and C. Evans.

Section 3.8: Units of measure – eliminate note 2

Section 3.15: Zernikes – make explicit statement of standard (default) coordinate system. Edit section to remove “ophthalmic” terminology and replace with standard optical fabrication and testing terminology.

Section 4: Replace with reference to ISO 10110 plus definition of drawing indications for any parameters not included in ISO 10110. Likely this will be the last section completed.

Section 5: Decision rules – move to informative appendix

Section 6: Move coverage factor to a definition in Section 3 and discussion into informative appendix.

Section 8: Move all the notes to an informative appendix

GOAL: Substantially improved/revised document for discussion at next OEOSC TF 3 meeting: Optifab (Monday May 11^th, Rochester, NY)
